Slide/Climb

These works were created as part of two-month residency that I undertook in the disused space above the Queen of Bradgate in Leicester, UK. The space itself has seen many uses over over the years but was originally part of the thriving textile industry in the city (as is referenced through the use of thread in the final installation).

Within the project I chose a space to work in containing a single window and proceeded to map the movement of light across the space as the sun moved across sky, creating a topographical map of the light within the space.

The resulting drawings were then mapped out in thread and strings that subsequently took a new depth as the light traced back over them each day.
